HAMMOND, LA – The Huskies travel to the Southland Conference Volleyball Tournament, hosted by Southeastern, as the number one seed thanks to capturing the regular season title with a 14-4 conference record.
HCU (22-9, 14-4 SLC) is led by first team All-Southland Conference senior outside hitter
Anna Gadway with 350 kills, 212 digs, and 67 blocks on the season. Second team All-Southland Conference sophomore outside hitter
Sara Arroyo has added 349 kills, 68 digs, and 43 blocks on the year. Second team All-Southland Conference sophomore middle blocker
Audrey Pearce recorded 251 kills, 101 digs, and 126 blocks. The Southland Conference Newcomer of the Year and Second team All-Southland Conference redshirt freshman setter
Grace McLaughlin has dished out 1,126 assists along with 323 digs and 38 blocks on the season. Senior middle blocker
Jada Allen has added 249 kills and 85 blocks while freshman outside hitter Shelby O'Neal has recorded 223 kills, 139 digs, and 34 blocks. Senior libero
Kaley Feris led the back line with 450 digs and averaged 4.02 digs/set while freshman defensive specialist Hazel Allen added 218 digs.
The Huskies are led by the Southland Conference Coach of the Year
Trent Herman with his second consecutive 20-win season (programs fourth) and the first 22-win season in program history. Herman led HCU to its first Southland Conference regular season victory and HCU's first top seed placement into a conference tournament.
The Huskies will play the winner of the quarterfinal match between Northwestern State vs Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 12 p.m. on Saturday November 19
th.
