HOUSTON, TX – The Huskies dominate the Cardinals of Lamar in straight sets (25-16, 25-16, 25-17). HCU won both matchups against the Cardinals without dropping a set (6-0) and reclaim the solo lead at the top of the Southland Conference standings.
HCU (18-8, 10-3 SLC) was led by senior outside hitter
Anna Gadway recording 14 kills, two digs, and a block. Junior outside hitter
Sara Arroyo had 13 kills and five digs. Senior middle blocker
Jada Allen recorded nine kills, one dig, and one block while sophomore middle blocker
Audrey Pearce added eight kills and three digs. Redshirt freshman setter
Grace McLaughlin dished out 40 assists, five digs, and an ace. Junior libero
Kaley Feris led the team defensively with 11 digs while sophomore defensive specialist
Alexia Jones added nine digs to the back line.
Lamar (8-16, 2-11 SLC) were led by Paige Dugan with 10 kills and seven digs. London Hatch dished out 26 assists along with two digs and a kill. Giselle Santini led the Cardinals defensively with 11 digs while Kaitlyn Gil added eight digs and eight kills.
The Huskies return to action on Tuesday, November 1
st in Lake Charles, Louisiana for a clash of the top of the Southland Conference against McNeese State. The game will start at 6:30 p.m. in the Ward Memorial Gymnasium.
