MSOC: Huskies Hit The Road to Face Utah Valley

The Huskies will play on the road again this Saturday to face Cal Baptist.

Orem, Utah - The HCU men's soccer team heads west to face Utah Valley at 8:00 p.m. CT this Thursday evening in a WAC matchup. Houston Christian University (HCU), formerly Houston Baptist University (HBU), underwent a name change in September 2022.

The Huskies (5-3-5, 1-0-3 WAC) have scored five goals through their first four WAC matches of the season. HCU's scoring leader, Bryant Farkarlun, has eight goals on the year and ranks eighth nationally with 21 total points (8 goals-5 assists) and leads the conference in scoring. Alex Aitken has 51 saves this year as the Huskies' main goalie, ranking 12th among all Division I players in total saves. The HUskies have scored at least one goal in every game this year and have not been beaten over their last seven. HCU is sitting in second place in the WAC heading into the last three weeks of conference play. 

Utah Valley (2-5-1, 0-2-0 WAC) has allowed 17 goals in their last six games and is in the midst of a four-match losing skid. In their first weekend of WAC play, the Wolverines dropped a pair of road matchup to Grand Canyon, 2-1, and Air Force, 3-1. The Wolverines are coached by former US Men's National Team player and MLS star Kyle Beckerman. 

The Huskies will play on the road again this Saturday to face Cal Baptist. The game will start at 9:00 p.m. CST.
