KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the second-consecutive week and the third of the last four, the HCU men's soccer program is ranked among the top 10 in the Far West Region by the United Soccer Coaches, checking in at no. 8 this week. Houston Christian University (HCU), formerly Houston Baptist University (HBU), underwent a name change in September 2022.
HCU (5-3-5, 1-0-3 WAC) recorded a pair of 1-1 draws this past weekend to pick up two points in the WAC standings and maintain their standing in second place. The Huskies currently rank 25th in the nation in total goals scored and their plus-14 goal differential is 25th-best in the country. The Huskies haven't lost since a 2-1 decision in Evanston, Ill. went in favor of Northwestern. They are 4-0-3 over their last seven games.
The Huskies return to the road this week, first taking on Utah Valley in Orem, Utah on Thursday before heading on to Riverside, Calif. on Saturday to take on California Baptist.
