HOUSTON – HBU will wrap up its three-match homestand to open the Southland Conference volleyball slate when the Huskies host New Orleans Thursday, followed by Nicholls Saturday in Sharp Gym. The Husky Sports Network broadcasts can be seen Thursday at 6:30 with

The Huskies (10-5, 1-0 SLC) swept McNeese to open conference play this past Saturday. Junior right side
Anna Gadway led HBU with 11 kills and seven digs, while senior middle blocker
Ebonie Ballesteros had 10 kills and nine blocks. Freshman outside hitter
Alyssa May leads the Huskies with 2.39 kills per set, followed closely by Gadway at 2.38 and sophomore outside hitter
Sara Arroyo at 2.33. Ballesteros leads the Southland with 1.33 blocks per set and is followed by her teammates senior middle blocker
Jada Allen at 1.15 and freshman middle blocker
Audrey Pearce at 1.05. Junior setter
Ellie Wipf leads the league in assists with 9.35 per set, while sophomore libero
Kaley Feris ranks second in the conference with 4.55 digs per set.
UNO (1-8, 1-0) also won its conference opener in a four-set decision over Nicholls. Kai Williams leads the Privateers with 2.58 killls per set, while Trinity Jackson adds 2.40 and Alexis Parrish 2.39. Lucie Pokorna and Maite Solaberrieta each average more than seven assists per set. Sheilah Purcell leads UNO with 4.39 digs per set and Jackson adds 3.37, while Sh'Diamond Holly averages 1.04 blocks per set.
Nicholls (7-6, 0-1) is led by Emily Gauthreaux's 2.69 kills per set and Paige Guidry with 2.43. Aaliyah Burras chips in with 2.18 kills per set and Devon Bright with 2.00. Lilly Bivens and Brooke Weichbrodt direct the offense. Kylie Lockhart comes up with 4.09 digs per set.
The Huskies hit the road for Louisiana next weekend to take on Northwestern State on Thursday in Natchitoches, followed by Southeastern Saturday in Hammond.
