CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - No. 2 seed HBU was upset by No. 3 seed Stephen F. Austin at the inaugural Southland Conference Championship Friday afternoon at the Islander Courts at The Water's Edge. Four out of the five pairs finished play before SFA reached three wins.

HBU will face the No. 5 seed New Orleans in an elimination match on Saturday at 11 a.m., with the winner advancing to face No. 4 Central Arkansas at 1 p.m. The Huskies faced the Privateers once during the regular season, winning the match, 4-1. The Huskies also faced Central Arkansas once during the regular season, falling 3-2.Â
