USAFA, Colorado – Huskies fall in their final game of the 2021 season to Air Force. The Falcons took the 2-1 victory on their home field on Friday night at Cadet Soccer Stadium.
HBU had four shots on the night with three on goal with a late second half penalty kick goal from Luis Pobalcion, his second on the season. Poblacion had two of the three dangerously close shots on the night. Gustavo Otero had four saves in the goal for the Huskies with two against him.
Air Force got their first goal late in the 76th minute by Guiliano Daniel with assistance from Elijah Bussey. The Falcons scored their winning goal just two minutes later and finished the night with 16 shots with five on goal. Kainoa Likewise had two saves in the goal for Air Force with one against him. The Falcons will continue on the compete in the 2021 Western Athletic Conference Tournament.
The Huskies finished the season 0-9-2 overall and 0-9-1 in WAC play. HBU had nine goals on the season led by sophomore Bryant Farkarlun with three. Farkarlun added two assists and 10 shots on goal for the season. Senior Gianluca and sophomore Poblacion each had two goals while seniors Jordi Cobo and Alex Reyes had one a piece. Although not seeing a full season, sophomore JP Becerra finished with 27 saves in the goal for the Huskies, ranking 7th in saves for the conference. Otero began his Husky campaign as a freshman playing five games and finishing with 21 saves.
