SAN ANTONIO, TX – The HBU men's soccer team is set for another road game as they face off with the Incarnate Word Cardinals in San Antonio, Texas for a 7:30 p.m. matchup on Friday, March 26. The Cardinals currently lead the series against HBU 5-3 after winning in their last meetup in 2019 1-0. 

HBU (0-5-2, 0-5-1 WAC) heads into their last four games of the regular season seeking their first win. Gianluca Natera had his first goal of the season for the Huskies in the heartbreak overtime loss to Dixie State. Three more Huskies have a scored a goal on the season, including Luis Poblacion who leads the team with seven shots on goal. JP Becerra had led the team in the goal still second in the conference with 27 saves. Gustavo Otero started his first game in the goal for his HBU career with eight saves on the night, the second highest saves in a game for the 2021 season.  

The Cardinals (1-4 WAC) recently fell 1-7 to Seattle on the road. Kevin Gutia leads the team with a goal and assist on the season with a .833 shot on goal percentage. Five other Cardinals have contributed goals for the season with a team .171 shot on goal percentage. Charles Beck looks to start in the goal for UIW with 19 saves on the season with 11 against him.  

The Huskies will see action next as they return home on Wednesday, March 31 at 6 p.m. against UT Rio Grande Valley at Sorrels Field.
