BEAUMONT, Texas – HBU hit .262 and held Lamar to -.027 to roll to a sweep, 3-0 (25-12, 25-20, 25-9), over the Cardinals Saturday afternoon at the Montagne Center, and clinch its spot in the Southland Conference Volleyball Tournament.

Mikayla Vivens led the Huskies (7-3 SLC) with 11 kills and 15 digs, while junior middle blocker
Jada Allen hit .438 with eight kills and four blocks. Sophomore right side
Anna Gadway added seven kills, five digs and three blocks, and redshirt freshman outside hitter

Abigale Nash had seven kills and six digs, while Kaitlyn Gil had six kills and two blocks for the Cardinals (1-9). Sam Swayze came up with 23 digs for Lamar.
The Huskies outdug the Cardinals, 59-50, outblocked them, 9-4, and outaced them, 4-1.
HBU returns home to face Abilene Christian on Senior Night Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in Sharp Gym, before wrapping up the regular season against conference-leading Stephen F. Austin Saturday in Nacogdoches. The Southland Conference Tournament will be held March 31-April 3 in Corpus Christi.
