COLLEGE STATION – HBU Softball fell to the Texas A&M Aggies 6-0 on Tuesday night at the David Diamond in College Station, Texas.
HBU (8-4,1-2 SLC) were held to seven hits as Shelby Echols and Riley Bullen went 2-3 to lead the Huskies. Heidi Jaquez, Sarah Venker and Kamryn parker each had a hit as the only other Huskies to reach base.
Jessica Patak (3-4) took the loss in the circle tossing 1.2 innings giving up the first run with three walks and a strikeout. Katy Janes tossed 1.2 innings giving up four runs on two hits, with three walks and a strikeout while Lyndie Swanson went 1.2 innings walking one batter with a strikeout. Sarah Venker wrapped up the night giving up one run on two hits with one walk and a strikeout.
Texas A&M (18-3) has six runs on five hits with a homerun on the night from Rylen Wiggins. Makinzy Herzog went 2-3 with two RBI. Wiggins went 1-1 with a homerun and two RBI.
Kayla Poynter (5-0) threw the shutout for the Aggies going five innings giving up five hits and striking out eight. Grace Uribe wrapped up the night going two innings giving up two hits and striking out two.
The Huskies will continue conference play hosting the Southeastern Louisiana Lions for a Friday doubleheader at 5 p.m. on March 19 and the final series game at noon on Saturday.
