2021 QUICK FACTS 

HOUSTON, Texas – The HBU men's soccer team hosts San Jose State at Sorrels Field to continue WAC play set for 2 p.m. The Huskies seek their first win of the season with six games remaining. The teams last met in October of 2019 resulting in an HBU 3-2 win. The Spartans currently lead in the 4-3-1 series with the Huskies.  

HBU (0-4-1,0-4 WAC) last saw action on Friday, March 5 in a trip to Las Vegas against UNLV in a 1-0 loss in the final minutes of the game. Senior Alex Reyes and sophomore Bryant Farkarlun have each scored a goal for the team this season. Senior Gianluca Natera has 12 shots on the season with five shots on goal with sophomore Luis Poblacion just behind with 12 shots and four shots on goal. Sophomore JP Becerra is currently third in the conference with 18 saves with eight goals against him.  

San Jose State (1-1,1-1 WAC) comes off a 2-3 loss to Grand Canyon having seen a short season with no preseason and their first two conference games postponed. The Spartans have four goals scored on the season with two from leader Nicolas Brenes who adds six shots with five shots on goal. Sophomore goalkeeper David Sweeney has eight saves on the season with four goals against him. 

The Huskies will see action next in a week in St. George, Utah to face off with Dixie State for an evening game on Saturday, March 20 at 6 p.m.
