HOUSTON – HBU will end a stretch of five of six matches at home when they host Northwestern State Thursday and Central Arkansas Saturday in Southland Conference volleyball in Sharp Gym.
Thursday's match begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by Saturday's noon start and will be available to watch with
Russ Reneau calling the action on the Husky Sports Network. HBU was originally supposed to open the spring with these matches Feb. 4 and 6, but were moved back due to Southland and NCAA health and safety protocols.
Redshirt freshman outside hitter
Reagan Leinen leads the Huskies (4-2 SLC) with 2.96 kills per set, while junior middle blocker
Jada Allen averages 2.43 kills and 0.96 blocks per set. Senior outside hitter
Mikayla Vivens adds 2.26 kills and 3.00 digs per set, and junior middle blocker
Ebonie Ballesteros leads the league with 1.43 blocks per set. Sophomore setter
Ellie Wipf averages 9.87 assists and redshirt freshman libero
Kaley Feris leads HBU defensively with 4.22 digs per set.
Breanna Burrell leads the Lady Demons (0-6) with 1.90 kills per set and Darria Williams averages 1.75. Haley Hoang leads NSU with 5.65 digs per set.
Amanda Beaton leads four Sugar Bears (5-2) averaging more than two kills per set with 2.42 and is joined by Alexis Stumbough (2.32), Lexi Miller (2.29) and Madi Bowles (2.09). Bailey Waddington averages 7.04 assists and Emily Doss ranks second in the league with 5.72 digs per set.
HBU will finish up with three of four on the road, beginning with next week's trips to Southeastern Louisiana and Lamar.
