VB: Huskies Head to Louisiana to face New Orleans and Nicholls

Huskies host Conference Championship beginning November 18

NEW ORLEANS, La – HBU hits the road to take on New Orleans on Thursday before traveling to Thibodaux to take on Nicholls Saturday in Southland Conference Volleyball.
 
The Huskies (18-7, 9-2 SLC) are riding a four match win streak including a 3-1 win over conference leading Texas A&M Corpus Christi. This past weekend, Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week Anna Gadway led the Huskies to sweeps against Northwestern State and Southeastern averaging 4.83 kills per set while hitting at a .303 percentage. Ellie Wipf averaged almost 13 assists per set while Mikayla Vivens and Kaley Feris led the way defensively each averaging 4.5 digs per set. Ebonie Ballesteros leads the conference in blocks averaging 1.32 per set.
 
The Privateers (1-18, 1-10 SLC) are led by Trinity Jackson averaging 2.71 kills per set while Kai Williams adds another 2.16 kills per set. Defensively, Sheilah Purcell averages 4.86 digs per set while Jackson contributes 3.26 digs per set. Thursdays match begins at 6:30 p.m. inside of the Human Performance Center.
 
Nicholls (9-13, 2-8) have split their last four Southland Conference Matches, most recently losing to Texas A&M Corpus Christi and UIW. Emily Gauthreaux leads the way offensively  averaging a tick over three kills per set while Aaliyah Burras averages 2.17 kills per set and Paige Guidry 2.06 kills per set. Kylie Lockhart averages 4.31 digs per set. Saturday's match starts at 1 p.m. inside of David R. Stopher Gymnasium.
 
The Huskies will close out their regular season schedule on the road against McNeese next Thursday before returning home to host the Southland Conference Championship beginning November 18th.
