LAS VEGAS, Nevada – The HBU men's soccer team is traveling west for two matches this weekend against WAC opponents UNLV and Dixie State.
The Huskies (2-8-0, 0-3-0 WAC) are looking to get back on track after back to back WAC losses last weekend to defending champion and 17th ranked Grand Canyon and Air Force. Senior forward
CJ Smith is tied for 3
rd in the conference with five goals. For the season, Smith leads the team with five goals and total points with 10.
Luis Poblacion leads the team in assists with three and four others are tied at two.
Ciro Calderon, who has started all three WAC contests for the Huskies, has made nine saves, for a save percentage of .563.
UNLV (4-6-0, 0-3-0) is coming off of conference losses against Cal Baptist, Seattle, and San Jose State. For the season, the Rebels have scored 15 goals, led by Aedon Kyra with four, and have given up 20 opponent goals. The Huskies have a 2-7 record overall against the Rebels and have split the last two matches, both played in Vegas.
Dixie State (1-9-0, 0-3-0) is coming off of conference losses against Utah Valley, San Jose State and Seattle U. Their only win on the season came at home in their first match of the season against UC San Diego. For the year, the Bison have only scored four times in their 10 matches this season and have given up 25 opponent goals. The Huskies and Bison met last season for the first time ever, with the Bison winning the contest on their home turf, 2-1
