HOUSTON - HBU volleyball seal their 10th win without any losses inside of Sharp Gym with a sweep of the Southeastern Louisiana Lions (25-18, 25-22, 25-19) in Southland Conference play for Senior Day on Saturday afternoon.

Anna Gadway led the Huskies (18-7, 9-2 SLC) once again this week with her seventh double-double of the season with 14 kills and 12 digs and adding three blocks. Outside hitter
Mikayla Vivens shined on her Senior Day with 10 kills and 12 digs with her other senior teammate middle blocker
Ebonie Ballesteros adding five kills and four blocks. Middle blocker
Jada Allen had a big day with seven kills and seven blocks whileÂ
Kaley Feris had 12 digs with
Alexia Jones adding 14 digs.
Sara Arroyo added six kills while setter
Ellie Wipf continued to lead the Husky offense with eight kills of her own, 36 assists, three blocks, and 13 digs.
The Southeastern Louisiana Lions (8-15, 6-5 SLC) were held to a .089 hitting percentage on the afternoon. Karlee Wilkerson led with eight kills while Kibi Huggins, Crispin Adams, and Cicily Hidalgo each added six with Nylissa Snagg and Jolie Hidalgo scoring three. Ariana Herbet tallied 15 assits while Gracie Duplechein added 14 with libero Calli Collins posting 16 digs and J. Hidalgo posting 12 digs.Â
HBU hit .262  for the match out assisting the Lions 49-30, out blocking 18-12 and out-digging 69-59.
Points were traded back and forth early in the set until the Huskies got on top of a 14-10 lead. The Lions tried to close in, but with back-to-back kills from Wipf and kill from Gadway, the Huskies outscored 11-8 to finish the first.Â
HBU got into an early 10-4 lead in the second, but the Lions forced a 8-0 run to tie it back and then grab the lead by two. Trading points, the Huskies get back on top 20-16 after a huge block from Allen and Arroyo, but with an HBU service error and back-to-back kills from Huggins ans Crispin, the Lions tried to inch their way back. With a couple kills from Gadway and one each from Vivens and Arroyo, the Huskies get the 2-0 set lead.Â
An early lead for HBU in the third kept the Huskies ahead by at least two, and with a service ace my Marlayna Stappleton and a kill from Wipf, the Lions had to recover down 16-20. With a kill from C. Hidalgo and an ace from Hebert, a Hidlago error and a Vivens kill sealed the sweep to continue the HBU winning streak.
The Huskies have just three games remaining in the regular season to all be played on the road with UNO on Nov. 4 at 6:30 p.m., Nicholls on Nov. 6, and McNeese the following Thursday on Nov. 11 just before the Southland Conference Tournament in Sharp Gym on Nov. 18-20.Â
