Tse on HBU:
"I want to thank my mom, dad, sisters and the rest of my family for their support and belief in me. I would also like to thank my AAU coach – Eddie Lau, SLCC coach – Kyle Taylor, Deerfield Academy Prep School coach – Conrad Pitcher and my youth coaches – Rob Libroia and Robert Capen for all their guidance. I have been lucky to have so many great friends and teammates that have supported me on this journey. I know none of this is possible without God's blessings! I chose HBU because of the style of play and I felt very comfortable knowing that Coach Cottrell and his coaching staff have been here for more than a decade."
Cottrell on Tse:
"Jade Tse comes to us as a true 'old school' pass first point guard. Jade relishes running the team and setting up his teammates to be successful. He is also a tenacious defender. While Jade will still be classified as a freshman, he has a year of post-graduate play and a redshirt year at Salt Lake Community College under his belt. Therefore, Jade comes to HBU as an experienced player with four years to wear a Husky uniform. Having grown up in New York City and playing for the famed Archbishop Molloy program, Jade is the prototypical tough, competitive and hard-nosed NYC point guard. And, his years at Deerfield Academy and SLCC continued his growth by working out with, and against, high level competition every day. Finally, Jade is a high character person and a disciplined student who is a terrific addition to our program both on and off the court."
Cottrell on 2020-21 recruiting class:
"These young men collectively bring us experience, versatility and athleticism. But more importantly, they are all products of winning programs who value competing and team success above all else. This group of guys (including early signee, Brycen Long) will come to HBU ready to compete at the highest level every day they step on the floor. We are thrilled to add these young men to our returning squad. We are very confident that this team will work hard to represent HBU in a first-class manner and compete for a Southland championship."
