MSOC: HBU Drops WAC Opener to Utah Valley
OREM, UT- HBU Men's Soccer team fell to Utah Valley in their WAC opener by a final score of 3-0.
HBU (2-5, 0-1 WAC) could not find the back of the net Saturday night as the Wolverines' goal keeper made seven saves on the night.
Gianluca Natera and
Lucas Vazquez tied for the team lead for shots on goal with two each.
Dominick Faletto, Hugo Von Reis, and
Tim Watson each added one.
Jorge Guzman was in the net for the Huskies tonight totaling five saves.
Luis Poblacion and Natera both received yellowcards.
Utah Valley (4-3-1, 1-0 WAC) totaled eight shots on goal with five coming from Blake Frischknecht. Luis Vargas scored the first goal for Utah Valley off a penalty kick. He was followed by Zahir Vasquez who put in a goal from Leo Fuchs and Aaron Nixon. Frischknecht was able to put in the final goal assisted by Mark Brown and Zach Maas.
HBU will stay on the road as they travel for a contest against Seattle Oct. 4th and to San Jose State Oct. 6th before finally returning to Sorrels Field to face off with UTRGV Oct. 11th
