HOUSTON- HBU Softball is set to wrap up their season this weekend in their final SLC against Abilene Christian starting with a double-header this Friday May 3rd at 1:00 P.M. Saturday will mark the last home game for our four Husky Seniors:
Demi Janak,
Brooke Bushman,
Ashley Herrera, and
Alyssa De Los Santos.
HBU (20-23, 7-17) is led by senior shortstop
Demi Janak who leads the team in batting with a .290 average and .324 average in conference play. Janak also leads the team in doubles with 13 on the season. Senior 1st basemen
Brooke Bushman follows her up with a .283 average with seven doubles and one homerun.
HBU will look to continue to effectively use all three pitchers on the staff beginning with
Emma Guindon (10-7) who leads the team in wins, innings pitched and strikeouts. Guindon comes into the game with a 2.77 ERA in 124 innings pitched. Following her is sophomore
Elliott Estes (6-7) who is just behind her with a 2.90 ERA in 72.1 innings pitched.
Jessica Patak (4-9) rounds out the pitching staff with a 4.59 ERA in 85.1 innings pitched.
ACU (13-28, 6-18) is coming into the game with a 4 game win streak including a three game sweep of the Texas A&M Corpus Christi Islanders. The Wildcats are led by Linsey Tomlinson who sports a .308 batting average with 21 RBI's and 20 runs scored. Kayla Keeling follows her up with a .298 average tied for second best on the team with a tie for team high 7 homeruns and 24 RBI's.
Calie Burris (6-7) looks to get the start in game one for the Wildcats. Burris comes in with a 4.86 ERA in 92.2 innings. She will be followed up by Samantha Bradley (6-17) who comes in with a 5.60 ERA in 138.1 innings pitched.
