SB: Huskies Set for Weekend Series Against Central Arkansas
HOUSTON- HBU Softball is set for a Southland Conference series on the road at Central Arkansas this weekend. Games are set for a double-header Friday April 26 at 5:00 P.M. and game three will be Saturday at 1:00 P.M.
HBU (20-20, 7-14) come in on a 5 game winning streak dating back to April 16th. Senior shortstop
Demi Janak took over the team lead in batting with a .298 average. Janak is also second place on the team in slugging percentage with 59 total bases on the season. Catcher
Heidi Jaquez follows her up with a .282 average and second place on the team in homeruns with 5 on the year. Freshman designated player
Caitlyn Brockway leads the team in both slugging and homeruns with 11 round trips and 65 total bases on the year.Â
Emma Guindon (10-6) leads the pitching staff with 10 wins in the circle and a 2.65 ERA in 116.1 innings pitched. She is followed up by sophomore
Elliott Estes (6-6) who also has a 2.65 ERA on the year in 66 innings pitched.
Jessica Patak (4-8) rounds out the Husky pitching staff with a 4.39 ERA in 81.1 innings pitched.Â
Central Arkansas (22-25, 8-13) come in the series one game ahead of the Huskies in the final spot for the Southland Conference Tournament. The Sugar Bears are led by Libby Morris who sports a .365 average with a team high 9 homeruns and 41 RBI's. Kayla Crutchmer follows her up with a .360 average and 35 runs scored.Â
Rio Sanchez (8-10) leads the UCA pitching staff 2.76 ERA in 101.1 innings pitched. Kamryn Coleman (3-5) follows her up with a 3.33 ERA in 40 innings pitched.Â
