SB: Huskies Travel to Take on Prairie View A&M in a Midweek Matchup
HOUSTON- HBU Softball is set for a midweek game against the Panthers of Prairie View A&M Tuesday April 16th at 2:00 P.M. The matchup was originally slated to be a double-header, but both teams agreed to drop one of the games.
HBU (15-20) leads the all-time series against PV A&M with a record of 8-1-1 with the Huskies winning the last six matchups.
Sierra Humphrey leads HBU in batting average swinging .303 on the year followed up by senior
Brooke Bushman's .278. Freshman
Caitlyn Brockway extended her team lead in Homeruns this past weekend to 9 homeruns on the season.Â
Elliot Estes (5-6) leads HBU with a 2.97 ERA in 59 innings pitched. The junkballer comes in with two saves that matches each of her fellow Husky pitchers
Jessica Patak and
Emma Guindon.Â
Prairie View A&M (21-11) comes in led by Destinee Williams .387 batting average to go with her five homeruns and 26 RBI's. Laurisa Hernandez is just behind her with a .373 average with six homeruns and also 26 RBI's.Â
Ashley Higgins (3-2) comes in with a team low 2.47 ERA on the year, but Crystal Castillo (9-4) is just behind her with a 2.89 ERA in 89.2 innings.
HBU will then host Incarnate Word for a three game set starting with a double-header Thursday at 5:00 and 7:00 P.M. Game three will follow on Friday at Noon.
