SB: Huskies Travel to Thibodaux for a Weekend Series Against Nicholls
HOUSTON- HBU Softball is set for a three game Southland Conference series against Nicholls starting with a double-header Friday at 5:00 P.M. and then concluding ZSaturday at 1:00 P.M. The Huskies are coming off a 8-6 victory over North Texas this past Tuesday the program's first win over the Mean Green.
HBU (15-17, 4-10) comes in hitting .254 as a team with 15 homeruns.
Sierra Humphrey leads the team in average at .315 while
Caitlyn Brockway leads the team in homeruns with 8.
Elliott Estes (5-4) leads the pitching staff with 2.64 ERA in 53 innings pitched on the season.
Emma Guindon (6-5) has seen the most action in the circle with 88 innings on the year and also leads in strikeouts with 69.
Jessica Patak (4-8) rounds out the pitching staff for HBU with a 3.96 ERA in 70.2 innings pitched.
Nicholls (23-16, 12-3) has won 7 straight games including two straight series sweeps against Northwestern State and Incarnate Word. The Colonels are hitting .260 as a team led by Kali Clement's .368 average. Clement also leads Nicholls in homeruns with 6. Samantha Dares follows her up with .361 average and four homeruns.
The Nicholls pitching staff comes in with a 2.07 ERA lead by Megan Landry (18-8) who has a 1.48 ERA in 164 innings pitched. Emily Danehower (3-0) follows her with a 1.58 ERA in 31 innings pitched.
