Nicko Martinez Posts Another Sub-70 Round to Finish 4th Overall

BOCA RATON, FLORIDA- HBU men's golf moved up two more spots in the final round to finish in a tie for fourth place. The Huskies shot a 11-under par 853 in the tournament where HBU lowered their score each round of play. 

Nicko Martinez shot another sub-70 round to finish in fourth place individually. Martinez shot a 68 in the final round to bring his final score to a 9-under par 207. Daniel Dimaculangan followed him up with a 68 of his own in the final round to finish 3-under par with a 213 total. Ransom Jacobson finished in a tie for 34th place with a 217 total. Patrik Jericha shot a 71 in round three to finish in 41st place and Marcelo Trevino finished tied for 55th after shooting 71 as well in the final round.

UCF took how the team win with the second lowest score in tournament history at 35-under par 829 total. Host team Florida Atlantic took second place with a 26-under par 838. Southern Illinois finished in third place four strokes ahead of HBU with a 15-under par 849 total.

UCF's Bobby Bai took home the individual win with the second lowest score in tournament history behind PGA tour member Brooks Kopeka's 199 in 2012. Bai shot a 16-under par 200 with rounds of 67, 67, and 66. UCF's Kyler Tate took home second place with a 12-under par 204, and Florida Atlantic's Sully Zagerman took third place with an 11-under par 205, two strokes ahead of HBU's Nicko Martinez.

HBU men's golf will next play April 15-16 at the Bayou Classic at Golf Crest C.C. in Pearland, Tx.
