WGOLF: Huskies Take Home HBU Husky Invitational
HOUSTON- HBU women's golf took home the team win in the HBU Husky Invitational. The Huskies shot a 17-over par 305 to finish 11 strokes ahead of the field.
HBU had all five golfers in the lineup finish inside the top 20 led by
Sara Zrnikova. Zrnikova finished in 5th place with a 11-over par 227.
Lexi Brooks and
Kaity Cummings tied for 7th place after Brooks shot a 74 and Cummings shot 77 in the final round to bring their scores to a 13-over par 229.
Tiffany Nguyen finished in a tie for 13th after a final round 79 to put her total 17-over par 233.
Alisa Chong rounded out the Husky lineup one stroke behind Nguyen with a 18-over par 234.
Caylee Senn and
Grace Cassity competed as individuals this weekend with Caylee finishing in a tie for 49th place with a 248 total, and Cassity finishing in a tie for 64th place with a 266 total.Â
TAMU-CC and ULM were the next teams up in the team standings with TAMU-CC finishing 11 strokes back with a 60-over par 924. ULM finished 18 strokes back with a 67-over par 931.
Sam Houston's Hannah Alberto took home the individual title with a 7-over par 223. Olivia Landberg of ULM finished in second place with a 8-over par 224. Third place was a tie between
TAMU-CC's Autumn Bynum and Lamar's Elodie Chapelet who shot 9-over 225.
The Huskies will next compete in the Cardinal Classic hosted by Lamar. The tournament will take place April 1st and 2nd with Live Stats available at HBUHuskies.com
