MGOLF: Men's Golf Finishes in 15th at the Border Olympics
LAREDO- HBU men's golf finishes with a 906 42-over par total to finish in 15th place at the Border Olympics hosted by the University of Houston.
Ransom Jacobson led the way for the Huskies finishing with a 221 total good for a tie for 46th place after shooting 76 in the third round. Daniel Dimaculangan followed him in a tie for 63rd shooting a 225 total.
Nicko Martinez shot a 82 in the final round to bring his total to 229. Mathew Chairuandej finished in 91st with a 238 total.
Colin Mulligan followed him up in 92nd place shooting a 243 total.
Arkansas State took home the team win shooting a 29-under par 835 total. Sam Houston State took second place 15 strokes behind Arkansas State coming in with a 850 total. UT-Rio Grand Valley came in with a 853 total three strokes behind Sam Houston.
Arkansas State's Zan Luka Stirn took home the individual win after posting scores of 68, 65, and 71. He finished with a 12-under par 204 three strokes ahead of Cody Burrows of Oral Roberts. Burrows finished with a 207 total after scores of 69, 66, and 72. Matthew Cole of Arkansas State finished in a tie for third place with a 208 total. Alvaro Hernandez tied for third finishing 8-under par and shooting a tournament low 64 for a 208 total.
HBU men's golf next competes in the FAU Slomin Austism Invitational in Boca Raton, Florida March 28-31.
