SB: Huskies Open Season in the Black & Gold Invitational
HOUSTON- HBU Softball is back in action taking part in the Black & Gold Invitational, starting the season off in Hattiesburg, Mississippi taking on host team Southern Miss, Jackson State, and Tennessee Tech. This four game tournament will take place Feb. 8-10.
The Huskies will open up with Southern Miss at 1:00 p.m. Feb. 8. They will next take on Jackson State Feb. 9 at 3:00 p.m. and then once again play Southern Miss at 8:00 p.m. that same day. HBU will wrap up the tournament against Tennessee Tech Feb. 10 and 12:30 p.m.

Mary-Ellen Hall is back at the helm for her 28
th season, after finishing with a 9-34 record and a 6-21 conference record. The Huskies have 7 new additions to the team in 2019 including transfer OF's
Riley Bullen and
Haley Melton.
Alyssa De Los Santos,
Ashley Herrera,
Demi Janak, and
Brooke Bushman make up this year's senior class. Junior
Heidi Jaquez was named to the Preseason ALL-SLC team as one of four non-automatic selections.
The Huskies will make their home debut Feb. 16 with a double-header against cross town rivals Texas Southern beginning at 1:00 p.m.
