WGOLF: Huskies Win Islander Classic
CORPUS CHRISTI- HBU women's golf took the team victory home at the Islander Classic hosted by Texas A&M Corpus Christi.
HBU shot 28-over par 892 as a team 23 strokes ahead of the competition. The Huskies had all five members of the lineup inside the top 15 with
Lexi Brooks leading them finishing in second place with a 3-over 219.
Kaity Cummings was right behind her in 4th place with a six-over 222.
Tiffany Nguyen finished tied for 5th with an 11-over 227.
Alisa Chong and
Sara Zrnikova round out the lineup with 15-over 231 totals good for a tie for 12th.
Caylee Senn and
Grace Cassity competed as individuals with Senn finishing in 15th with an 18-over 234. Cassity shot a 31-over 247.
Host team Texas A&M Corpus Christi was in second behind HBU with a 51-over 915. Southern Illinois finished in 3rd with a 59-over 923.
