ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The road warriors of the HBU men's basketball team continue a season-opening stretch of six consecutive games away from home this Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. CST when they clash with the Michigan Wolverines inside the Crisler Center. The Huskies (0-3) will play game number four away from home out of a six-game stretch while also playing nine of the first 10 games of the season on the road. Through three games, senior
Jalon Gates leads the Southland Conference in scoring with 20.7 points per game and ranks third in the country in made three-pointers per game, averaging 4.67 per contest. After knocking down 5-of-9 from deep against the Red Raiders, Gates now stands alone in fourth on HBU's all-time list with 163 for his career.
Junior
Ty Dalton continues to do a bit of everything for HBU, leading the team in assists (3 apg) and steals (2.7 spg) while ranking second on the squad in rebounding (5.7 rpg) and third in scoring (9.7 ppg).
Michigan (3-0) has opened with three-straight at home and is led by 7-1, 265 pound senior Jon Teske. Teske leads the Wolverines with 16.7 ppg and 9 rpg while recording at least 15 points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots in all three games so far. Junior guard Isaiah Livers is adding 15 ppg for UM while senior point guard Zavier Simpson is ninth in the nation with 7.3 apg.
Friday's game will mark the fourth meeting between the two programs with all three previous contests occurring within the last 10 years. The first meeting took place on Nov. 20, 2009.
The Huskies will be back in their hometown for their next game, a pre-Thanksgiving tilt against the Houston Cougars inside the Fertitta Center on Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 7:00 p.m.
