MSOC: Huskies Blanked by UTRGV
HOUSTON, TX- HBU Men's Soccer falls to UT Rio Grande Valley by a score of 4-0. The Huskies will return to action Sunday at Sorrels Field as they take on UIW at 7:00 P.M.
HBU fell to 3-7 on the season and 1-3 in WAC play as they were held scoreless on the night. The Huskies put up 13 shots, but only one came on goal from the foot of
Luis Poblacion.
Jorge Guzman got the start in goal for HBU and notched one save before giving way to
Jorge Cabrera who posted a clean second half with two saves.Â
UTRGV improved to 7-2 on the season and 3-1 in WAC play. The Vaqueros were led by William Akio and Damuan Magallan Jr. as they acounted for all four of the Vaqueros goals. Magallan Jr. got the scoring started in the 5th minute as he was assisted by Jan Engels and Angel Lopez. Akio would then knock in three goals of his own assisted by Lopez on the first.Â
