HOUSTON – The HBU men's soccer team will aim to build on the momentum gained from last weekend's 3-1 road win over SMU as the Huskies begin the Western Athletic Conference schedule this Saturday at home against Utah Valley.

The Huskies (2-2-2) had just one game last week and they made it count, taking down an SMU team that HBU previously held a 0-4-1 all-time record against. Freshman Nick Coburn scored the first two goals of the match, the second of which proved to be the game-winner, and assisted on the third as HBU won 3-1 and Coburn earned WAC offensive player of the week honors.

Coburn is now second on the team with two goals while Gianluca Natera continues to lead the way with four goals and two assists. As a team, HBU ranks fifth in the WAC in goals against average, limiting opponents to 1.21 goals per game. In three home games this season, the Huskies have allowed just two goals with both of those coming in the season-opening draw with Siena.

Utah Valley (3-4-0) comes to Houston having dropped four-straight games after starting the season 3-0. During their current four-game skid, the Wolverines have been out-scored 10-to-1 after holding a 10-to-1 advantage over opponents during that opening win streak. The Wolverines' Zach Maas, a sophomore, leads the team with three goals while senior Austin Buxton leads the way with seven points thanks to a pair of goals and three assists. In goal, Joseph Wheelwright has seen the majority of the minutes and sports a 0.91 goals against average.

Saturday will mark the fifth all-time meeting between the two programs and just the second in Houston. The Huskies are 1-3-0 against Utah Valley with the win coming at Sorrels Field during the 2015 season as HBU earned a 2-1 win over the 23rd-ranked Wolverines.

HBU remains at home for its next two WAC games, hosting San Jose State on Friday, Sep. 28, and Seattle on Sunday, Sep. 30.
