MGOLF: HBU Finishes 9th in Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tennesee – HBU men's golf carded a 299 in the third round to finish 9th with a 45-over par 909 Tuesday afternoon at the Memphis Intercollegiate.

HBU's Ransom Jacobson who finished 14th overall, led the huskies with a 3-over par 219 after shooting a 71 in the final round. Behind him was Senior Dan Dimaculangan he shot a 75 in the third round to finish T-25th with a total of 223. Patrik Jericha shot a 77 in the third round to finish with a total of 232 to finish T-50th. Marcelo Trevino finished T-54th after a 76 in the final round to bring his total to 235, and Lucas Coapman finished T-61st with a 242 total after a 82 in the final round.

Junior Nicko Martinez competed as an individual this tournament and posted a 220 stroke total after a 73 in the final round that was good for 15th overall.

Chattanooga finished on top of the team standings holding on to the lead after a charge from host team Memphis. Chattanooga's 13 under-par 851 was only two strokes better than Memphis's 853. Oral Roberts followed them with a 8 over-par 872.

Chattanooga's Oliver Simonsen won the individual title handidly with a 21 under-par 195. He was trailed by Oral Roberts Cody Burrows who finished 8 under-par with a 208 total. In third cam Will Porter of Chattanooga, who finished one stroke behind Burrows with a 7 under-209.

The Huskies men's golf team will travel to Erie, Colorado next week Sept. 24-25 to compete in the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational.
