DALLAS, Texas – After its last match was rained out this past Sunday, the HBU men's soccer team will travel to Dallas, Texas for a matchup against the Mustangs of SMU at Westcott Field on Friday evening for what will be the Huskies' final non-conference match of the season.
The Huskies (1-2-2) played Oral Roberts to a 0-0 draw last Friday, Sep. 7, before having their Sunday, Sep. 9, matchup with UCA canceled due to inclement weather. Sophomore 
Jorge Cabrera has been in goal for HBU the last four matches, recording a pair of shutouts while making 20 saves with a 1.14 goals against average. His five saves per game average ranks 20
th among keepers across the country.
The HBU offense continues to be paced by sophomore 
Gianluca Natera who ranks in the top-25 nationally with four goals with his two shots on goal per game pace ranking 15
th-best. As a team, the Huskies have gone to overtime in four of their five games with a 1-1-2 record in those games.
SMU (2-2-1) opened the season ranked eighth in the nation but is currently unranked. The Mustangs are 2-2-0 at home this year with wins against Campbell and Incarnate Word while falling to Providence and Denver. In their last match, the Mustangs tied Saint Louis on the road.
Eddie Munjoma, a junior, and Talen Maples, a sophomore, have both scored a pair of goals with one assist to lead SMU in goals and points, with five. In goal, junior Grant Makela has a 0.47 goals against average with 11 saves over four matches. The Huskies are 0-4-1 all-time against the Mustangs with the last meeting a 3-1 SMU victory in Dallas during the 2015 season.
The Huskies will open Western Athletic Conference play next weekend with a single match on Saturday, Sep. 22, against Utah Valley at Sorrels Field with a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.
