EDINBURG, Texas – Jorge Cabrera, a sophomore making his fourth career start, made 11 saves on Friday evening as the HBU men's soccer team fell to Northern Illinois at the UTRGV Track and Field and Soccer Complex by a score of 1-0.

HBU (1-1-1) had a hard time finding a shot against a tough NIU (2-1-0) defense all afternoon. NIU attempted eight shots with five on goal in the first half, finding the game-winner during the 26^th minute when Kevin Rodriguez got an assist from Anthony Markanich and found the net from the left side of the box.

The Huskies from HBU got their lone shot attempt of the match off during the 56^th minute when Malik Key had his shot blocked. In the second period, Northern Illinois put seven more shots on goal of the 11 attempted.

Cabrera's 11 saves were the third-most all-time by an HBU goalkeeper. The sophomore falls to 1-1-0 on the year but sports a .929 save percentage and a goals against average of 0.48.

HBU will close out the UTRGV Invitational on Sunday, Sep. 2, morning against Purdue Fort Wayne with kickoff set for 10:30 a.m.
