FB: Huskies Return to SLC Play at #18 Central Arkansas

CONWAY, Arkansas - HBU returns to Southland Conference play against 18th-ranked Central Arkansas Saturday at 6 p.m. at Estes Stadium. The DNA Husky Sports Network audio broadcast with Lonnie King is available on HBUHuskies.com and will be streamed on Bear Nation Network.
 
Sophomore quarterback Bailey Zappe holds all of the program's career passing records and has completed 84-of-142 passes for 1,015 yards, nine touchdowns and four interceptions this season. Sophomore running back Dreshawn Minnieweather has 45 carrieds for 322 yards and three touchdowns. The Huskies (1-3, 0-2 SLC) have five players with more than 100 yards receiving, led by senior David Racine with 211 and junior Nick Sexton leads the corps with 17 catches.
 
Sophomore linebacker Langston Tunson ranks second nationally with 15.3 tackles per game and leads HBU with three sacks. He is also one of six different Huskies who have recorded an interception this year. Sophomore linebacker Caleb Johnson has 37 stops and senior linebacker Kyle Bowling has made 36 tackles.
 
Senior Alec Chadwick handles both field goal and punting duties, ranking second in the nation with a 46.8-yard punting average and is 2-for-4 on field goal attempts. Sophomore running back LaDarius Dickens ranks second nationally with a 38.4 kickoff return average and was named SLC Special Teams Player of the Week after three returns for 186 yards, including a 95-yard touchdown against SMU.
 
Breylin Smith has completed 77-of-112 passes for 1,009 yards, six touchdowns and an interception for UCA (2-2, 1-1). Carlos Blackman has rushed 75 times for 345 yards and four touchdowns, while Lester Wells is the Bears' leading receiver with 26 catches for 269 yards and a touchdown. Jakari Dillard and Brandon Myers have two touchdowns each.
 
Juan Jackson leads UCA with 36 tackles and an interception and Jackie Harvell has 31 tackles and an interception. Nathan Grant has recorded 1.5 sacks and Duke Upshaw has four pass breakups.
 
UCA leads the all-time series against HBU, 4-0, including last year when the sixth-ranked Bears down the Huskies, 27-7, on Oct. 7 in Houston. HBU is 0-6 all-time against ranked teams.
 
The Huskies wrap up its stretch of three-straight road games against Southeastern Louisiana Saturday, Oct. 13 at 4 p.m. at Strawberry Stadium in Hammond, Louisiana.
