MGOLF: HBU finishes in 16th at the Little Rock Invitational
LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas- After round two was delayed yesterday the Huskies came back today and climbed two spots at the end of round two. The Huskies ended up dropping one spot to finish in 16th at the Little Rock Invitational.
Senior Daniel Dimaculangan and Freshman Ransom Jacobson led the way for the Huskies as both tied for 41st posting a 225 total. Dimaculangan finished round three gaining ground by shooting a 71. Junior Nicko Martinez finished tied for 72nd posting a 73 in round two and a 79 in round three for a 232 total. The Junior transfer Lucas Coapman shot 236 total good for a tie at 81st and Junior Colin Mulligan finished 89th posting a 354 total.
Arkansas State stood alone at the top of the leader board after gaining a total of 8 spots on the competition after round one. Arkansas State shot a 1-under par 863 for the tournament. UNLV who led the tournament after rounds one and two dropped one spot in the final round posting a even-par 864 for the tournament. In third place was Illinois State who shot a 288 on the final day to bring their total to a 1-over par 865 for the tournament.
UNLV's Harry Hall took home the individual honors after posting scores of 71, 70, and 69 for a 6-under par 210 total. Trent Wallace from Illinois State followed him tied for 2nd place three strokes back with a 213 total. Arkansas State's Matthew Cole tied for 2nd place after making up ground on the competition shooting a 67 and a 69 in the final two rounds to finish with a 213 total.
The Huskies Men's team is finished for the fall, but will start back up in the spring with their first tournament taking place Feb. 18 and 19 at the Atchafalaya Intercollegiate in Patterson, LA.
