MGOLF: HBU Finishes 10th in Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate
LAS CRUCES, New Mexico- HBU finishes in 10
th place at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate on Tuesday.
Senior Daniel Dimaculangan led the way for the Huskies shooting 71 in the final round to bring his total to 225 good for a tie for 29th. Behind him was
Patrik Jericha in a tie for 54
th who shot a 78 to bring his total to 231, and Junior
Nicko Martinez shot a 74 to climb to tie for 58
th. At tied for 59
th is another Junior
Colin Mulligan who finished with a total of 232. Junior
Marcelo Trevino rounded out the Huskies lineup with an 84 in the 3
rd round for a total 247.
Host New Mexico State took the team title shooting a 293 in round 3 for a 21-over par total 873. Following them was UTEP who climbed one spot with a 293 for an 878 total. Oral Roberts finished in 3
rd with an 879 total.
New Mexico State's Mike McGilton and UTEP's Aaron Terrazas finished tied for 1
st place individually. McGilton shot a 75 in the final round and Terrazas shot a 73 for them to both finish with a 3-over par 216 total on the tournament. Three players tied for 3
rd place at 4-over par 217 total. Those players were Oral Robert's Cody Burrows, UTRGV's Alvaro Hernandez, and UTEP's Marcus Khaw.
The Huskies next tournament is next week Oct. 22-23 in Little Rock, Arkansas in the First Tee Classic.
