USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – HBU fell to 15
th-ranked Air Force on Saturday evening in WAC men's soccer play at Cadet Soccer Stadium, one of the toughest venues in NCAA men's soccer, by a score of 4-0.
For HBU (4-5-3, 2-3-1 WAC),
Thomas Menke and
Gianluca Natera put shots on goal in the first seven minutes but the Falcons' (12-2-0, 5-1-0 WAC) keeper Andrea Seazzu came up with both saves. Air Force's Tucker Bone got the scoring started in the 13
th minute with a header off a cross by Austin Guerrero. It was more than 24 minutes before the Falcons extended their lead thanks to a goal by Aaron Uribe. HBU's Jordie Cobo put a shot on target in the 42
nd minute but, again, Seazzu made the save to send Air Force into the half leading 2-0.
In the second half, it took just three minutes and 26 seconds for Austin Dewing to give the Falcons a 3-0 lead with an assist from Tristan Trager. Tucker Bone added his second goal of the game, and ninth for the season, at the 65:48 mark for the final goal of the game.
HBU's Natera finished the night with three shot attempts, two of which were on goal, while Menke put one of two shots on target.
Jorge Cabrera suffered the loss, allowing four goals while making four saves.
After a three-game road swing, the Huskies return home for a pair of games next weekend beginning with Senior Night on Friday, Oct. 19, against Grand Canyon and then Sunday, Oct. 21, afternoon against UNLV.
