USAF Academy, Colo. – As the HBU men's soccer team continues through the Western Athletic Conference schedule, the Huskies have a single game this weekend at No. 15 Air Force with a 7:00 p.m. central on Saturday.
The Huskies (4-4-3, 2-2-1 WAC) head to one of the most difficult places to play in the nation with Cadet Soccer Stadium sitting 7,258 feet above sea level and an Air Force (11-2-0, 4-1-0 WAC) program that has compiled a 29-5-2 record at home since 2015. Over the last two seasons, the Falcons are 17-1-1 on their home turf. One of those five losses in the last four years came to the Huskies in 2015, a 2-1 HBU victory.
HBU has had nine different players score goals this season with
Gianluca Natera continuing to lead the team with four while
Dominick Faletto has three. Junior
Malik Key scored the lone goal in the Huskies' 1-0 win over Incarnate Word last weekend, giving him six game-winning goals for his career and putting him alone in fifth on the program's all-time list for game-winners. Sophomore goalkeeper
Jorge Cabrera, meanwhile, is currently seventh in the nation with a 5.40 saves per game average and his conference-leading 54 saves rank him 12
th nationally.
For the Falcons, seniors Tucker Bone and Austin Dewing have both totaled seven goals on the year with Bone also adding five assists for 19 points, the second-highest total in the league. As a team, Air Force has out-scored its opponents 33-to-9 for the season with a 204-to-115 shot advantage. In goal, Andrea Seazzu boasts a conference-best goals against average of 0.63 with a .795 save percentage.
The Huskies are 4-6-2 all-time against the Falcons.
HBU will return home for its final two home games of the season next weekend to be followed by a three-game road swing to close the season. The Huskies will host Grand Canyon on Friday, Oct. 19, for Senior Night and then cap their home slate on Sunday, Oct. 21, against UNLV.
