STATESBORO, Georgia – For the second time in just over two weeks, the HBU men's soccer team has had its plans altered due to a hurricane. Originally scheduled to face Georgia Southern and Gardner-Webb as part of the Coastal Empire Challenge in Georgia, the tournament has been cancelled but the Huskies will still play their matches, just with a change in venues.

On Friday, Sep. 8, HBU (1-1) will take on Georgia Southern (1-3) at Eagle Field – ERK Park on the GSU campus at 11:00 a.m. central time. The Eagles dropped their first two matches of the season to Monmouth and Furman by scores of 1-0 before picking up a 2-1 victory over North Florida. In their last match, GSU fell in overtime to No. 5 Clemson.

The Eagles have three players with one goal each thus far, including one from senior Blake Wilson who led the team last season with eight goals. In goal, Robert Flott has totaled eight saves and allowed four goals en route to a 1-2 record. Georgia Southern has been out-shot 48-38 on the year.

HBU will then travel north to Boiling Springs, N.C. to face Gardner-Webb (1-1-1) on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. central. The Bulldogs dropped a 3-1 decision at Cincinnati to open the season before drawing 1-1 with Mercer and then beating Wofford 5-1 at home in their last match. Sophomores Magnus Moldjord and Severin Soerlie are leading the way with six points each, with Moldjord netting three goals while Soerlie has scored a pair and added two assists. Jake Beyer, a sophomore, has stopped 11 shots while allowing five goals.

The Huskies split their first two matches of the season last weekend at the UTRGV Invitational, falling 1-0 to No. 21 Omaha before earning a 2-1 double-overtime win against St. Bonaventure on a Dominick Faletto penalty kick in the 109th minute. Faletto and Dequan Thomas own the Huskies two goals.

Chance Pope and Harrison Veith have each made one start in goal for HBU with both allowing a single goal. Pope made a pair of saves in taking a tough loss to Omaha while Veith stopped five shots against the Bonnies.

After Sunday's match, HBU will have nearly two weeks off before traveling to San Antonio for a non-conference matchup with Incarnate Word on Friday, Sep. 22 at 7:00 p.m.
