CONWAY, Arkansas – HBU extended the match with a gritty third-set victory, but did not have enough to keep the comeback alive as Central Arkansas claimed a 3-1 (25-20, 25-22, 25-27, 25-17) victory in Southland Conference volleyball Monday night at the Prince Center.

Jessica Wooten recorded her 10
th double-double of the season with a match-high 18 kills and 12 digs, while senior outside hitter
Bailey Banks added 13 kills and nine digs. Redshirt freshman right side

Hailey Erickson led HBU defensively with 21 digs.
Haley Tippett and Samantha Anderson each had 13 kills for UCA (13-2, 2-1), with Tippett reaching a double-double with 12 digs. Megan Nash chipped in with eight kills and four blocks, while Alanna Bramwell had six blocks. Elizabeth Armstrong handed out 41 assists and had eight digs and Emily Doss had 11 digs for the Sugar Bears.
UCA hit .255 for the match, while holding HBU to a .136 attack percentage. The Huskies led in digs, 58-53, but the Sugar Bears had more blocks, 13-8, and held a slight edge in aces, 6-5.
The Huskies wrapped up a three-game road trip and will return home this week to host Lamar Thursday at 7 p.m., then conference-leading Stephen F. Austin Saturday at 1 p.m. at Sharp Gym.
