HUNTSVILLE, Texas - HBU hits the road for its season finale against fourth-ranked Sam Houston State in Southland Conference football Saturday at 1 p.m. at Bowers Stadium. The Legacy Sports Network audio broadcast with Lonnie King will be avaiable on HBUHuskies.com and the game will be broadcast on ESPN3.
 
HBU (1-9, 0-8 SLC) continues to be anchored by its senior linebackers Garrett Dolan and Cody Moncure. Dolan leads the Southland and ranks second nationally with 13.1 tackles per game (131 total), while Moncure has made 80 tackles and recovered a pair of fumbles. Sophomore defensive end Andre Walker has posted 59 stops, including 13.5 for loss and four sacks. Junior cornerback Raphael Lewis has also recorded 59 tackles and a team-leading four interceptions, two of which he has returned for touchdowns. He had the longest scoring play in HBU history with a 96-yard pick-six against Lamar and has made a Huskies single-season record 10 pass breakups.
 
Freshman quarterback Bailey Zappe has completed 138-of-243 passes for 1,351 yards, three touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Senior running back Terrance Peters has rushed for 405 yards and a touchdown, while also making 19 catches for 74 yards and a score. Senior receiver Ethan Fry has set HBU single-season records with 36 receptions for 451 yards and has two touchdowns. Senior Isaiah Hall has added 23 receptions for 232 yards.
 
Junior kicker Alec Chadwick has the longest field goal in NCAA Division I with his 58-yarder against Lamar. Senior punter Christian Guzman ranks third all-time in Southland history with a 42.8-yard average.
 
Jeremiah Briscoe guides the Bearkats (9-1, 7-1), connecting on 230-of-413 passes for 32 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Corey Avery has rusheed for 715 yards and 11 touchdowns. Davion Davis has made 57 catches for 882 yards and 13 touchdowns, while Nathan Stewart has caught 47 passes for 1,107 yards and eight touchdowns. Yedidiah Louis has 44 receptions for 585 yards and four scores.
 
SHSU leads the all-time series against HBU, 3-0.
