HOUSTON – The start time for tonight's Southland Conference volleyball match between HBU and Central Arkansas has been moved up to 6:30 p.m. at Sharp Gym.
The match kicks off HBU's four-match homestand and will be followed by Saturday's 1 p.m. matchup against Northwestern State.
The Huskies (17-8, 8-4 SLC) are in fourth in the conference standings and are led by senior outside hitters
Jessica Wooten and
Bailey Banks. Wooten leads the Southland with 15 double-doubles and is averaging 3.03 kills and 3.68 digs per set, while Banks averages 3.66 kills and 3.25 digs per set. Redshirt freshman right side
Ashtyn Richey is hitting .230 and adding 1.92 kills pere set. Senior middle blocker
Blair Gillard leads the league with 1.37 blocks per set and junior middle blocker
Kayla Davenport adds 1.07 per set. Freshman setter
Abby Gargus averages 9.79 assists per set and senior libero
Hailey Erickson is seventh in the league with 4.11 digs per set.
Samantha Anderson leads UCA (22-3, 11-2) with 3.35 kills per set. Abbie Harry, Haley Tippett, Amanda Beaton and Megan Nash each average more than two kills per set. Elizabeth Armstrong hands out 10.79 assists per set and Emily Doss averages 3.26 digs per set. Alanna Bramwell leads the team with 1.15 blocks per set.
NSU (13-15, 8-5) is paced by Reagan Rogers' 3.48 kills and 2.45 digs per set, with Hannah Brister adding 2.35 kills per frame. Channing Burleson averages 4.74 digs per set and Kathryn Wristen dishes out 9.60 assists per set.
The Huskies will close out the regular season against New Orleans Thursday, Nov. 9, and Southeastern Louisiana Saturday, Nov. 11 at Sharp Gym.
