HOUSTON – HBU will look to remain undefeated at home a week after earning a 3-1 Western Athletic Conference win over UMKC in the men's soccer team's home-opener when the Huskies host CSU Bakersfield at Sorrels Field on Thursday, Oct. 12, evening and then San Jose State on Sunday, Oct. 15, afternoon.

HBU (4-5-0, 1-3-0 WAC) downed UMKC last Thursday, Oct. 5, at Sorrels Field thanks to goals from Dequan Thomas, Abdullah Mirza and Devon Grant. Harrison Veith made nine saves in goal en route to the 3-1 win. Thomas and Grant, along with Dominick Faletto and Malik Key, are tied for the team-lead with two goals this season. Faletto leads the way with seven total points, with three assists to go with the pair of goals. Husky goalkeepers this season have combined to average 5.56 saves per match this season, the second-highest average in the league. Veith, Chance Pope and Jorge Cabrera have each started at least two matches in goal for HBU.

CSU Bakersfield (5-6-0, 3-1-0 WAC) comes into Thursday's match having won its last three, all home contests, against Utah Valley, Grand Canyon and UNLV. The Roadrunners sport just a 1-4 record on the road this season. Including a pair of neutral site matches, CSUB has been out-scored 20-6. Senior Jamie Carey-Morrell leads the Roadrunners with four goals while Sebastian Mentel has netted htree. Detre Bell, a redshirt freshman, has started all 11 matches in goal with four shutouts and a 1.79 goals against average.

San Jose State (2-9-1, 0-3-1 WAC) is in the midst of an eight-match winless skid, posting an 0-7-1 record during that stretch. Jeremy Romero, a senior, owns half of the team's goals with six and currently stands tied for third in the conference. San Jose State has, like the Huskies, used three different goalkeepers this year with all making at least three starts. Spartan goalies have combined to allow 2.10 goals per match with a save percentage of .527.

HBU is 1-5-2 all-time against CSU Bakersfield with that win, a 3-1 decision, coming during the 2014 season in Bakersfield, Calif. Versus San Jose State, the Huskies are 3-5-0 all-time including a 2-1-0 mark at Sorrels Field.

The Huskies return to the road next week, traveling to Utah Valley on Thursday, Oct. 19, and Seattle on Sunday, Oct. 22.
