HOUSTON - HBU hosts its second-consecutive home game when it battles Southeastern Louisiana in Southland Conference football Saturday at 6 p.m. at Husky Stadium. Alec Chadwick is 4-of-6 on field goal attempts, including a 54-yarder, which is the third-longest in the FCS this year.
Lorenzo Nunez has completed 42-of-72 passes for 705 yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions, while also rushing for 105 yards and a touchdown for the Lions (3-3, 3-1). Darren Johnson has rushed for 381 yards and four touchdowns, Marcus Cooper has 336 yards and a touchdown, Eugene Bethea has gained 317 yards with three touchdowns and Julius Maracalin has 267 yards and a team-leading five touchdowns. Juwan Dickey has 23 catches for 311 yards and a score, while Austin Mitchell has made eight catches for 246 yards and three touchdowns.
Max Lyons leads SLU with 48 tackles and is tied for the team lead with two interceptions and Sione Teuhema has made 44 tackles, including 10 for a loss and a 6.0 sacks. Mayori Ellison also has two picks and has broken up six passes. Ivy Wall has averaged 38.3 yards on 25 punts and Dillon Burkhard is 5-for-7 on field goal attempts, with a long of 41. Juwan Petit-Frere is the most dynamic kick returner in the SLC, averaging 39.6 yards on kickoff returns with two touchdowns.
SLU has won all three of the previous meetings against HBU, including last year's 37-3 victory on Oct. 22 in Hammond.
The Huskies will be back on the road next weekend, when they face Stephen F. Austin Saturday, Oct. 21 at 3 p.m. in Nacogdoches, Texas.
