HOUSTON – After playing the last three games on the road, HBU returns to Sharp Gym to face off against Southland Conference foe Nicholls on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. as the HBU men's basketball coaching staff takes part in the annual Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers event benefiting the American Cancer Society. Lonnie King will be broadcasting live on the Legacy Sports Network available at HBUHuskies.com.
HBU (7-11, 3-5 SLC) owns a 6-1 record at home this season but the Huskies have dropped their last four games. In their last outing at Southeastern Louisiana, the Huskies took a 38-33 lead into halftime but were out-scored by 17 in the second half for an 83-71 loss.
Braxton Bonds led HBU, matching a career-best with 13 points while four other players scored in double-digits.
Nicholls (10-10, 3-4 SLC) is coming off an 87-76 loss at home to Lamar. In that game, Ja'Dante' Frye led the way for the Colonels, netting 16 points while Johnathan Bell and Stevie Repichowski both added 15. Frye, a senior, is the leading scorer on the Nicholls roster, averaging 15.8 points per game while his 6.5 rebounding average is also tops on the team. The Colonels' roster features the nation's top shot-blocker this season in seven-footer Liam Thomas and his 4.1 blocked shots per game.
The Huskies won the only meeting between the two teams last season, a 78-69 affair in Sharp Gym.

Josh Ibarra added eight points and eight rebounds.
The annual Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers Awareness Week runs from January 23-29, 2017 with coaching staffs across the nation donning sneakers with their suits to help raise awareness and help save lives from cancer.

HBU hits the road for their next game, opening up the month of February at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Wednesday, February 1 at 7:30 p.m at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas.
