Senior
Colter Lasher became the latest HBU (7-8, 3-2 SLC) player to join the program's 1,000-point club in the Huskies' last game. His first bucket of the game gave him 1,000 and he now stands at 1,017 career points. The last HBU player to reach 1,000 career points was Andrew Gonzalez who accomplished the feat during the 2010-11 season. For the season, Lasher is averaging 15.9 points per game, the ninth-highest mark in the conference.
Reveal Chukwujekwu is second on the team in scoring at 11.2 points per game and is pulling down a team-best 7.4 rebounds. The senior has recorded three double-doubles in five SLC games so far.
Josh Ibarra is shooting 55.8 percent (67-of-120) for the season but is hitting shots at a 64.3 percent (27-of-42) in Southland play. The junior center is averaging 10.7 points per game.
HBU dropped its last outing to Central Arkansas, 89-78, in a game where the Bears shot at a torrid pace in the first half, knocking down 7-of-10 from three and building a 46-27 lead at the half. The Huskies got 15 points in the second half from Ibarra but it wasn't enough to make up the halftime deficit. Lasher led HBU with 19 points while Chukwujekwu and Ibarra both posted double-doubles.
Asa Cantwell added 12 off the bench on 4-of-7 shooting from three-point range.
Incarnate Word (6-10, 1-4 SLC) has dropped seven of its last eight but sport a 6-2 record at home. Shawn Johnson is leading the Cardinals with 16.3 points and 7.4 rebounds per contest. Simi Socks and Jalin Hart both are both pitching in with more than 14 points per game. The Cardinals are coming off an 87-72 home loss to Lamar. UIW's five starters accounted for 67 of the team's 72 points with Devin Wyatt contributing the remaining five off the bench.
The Huskies continue their road swing with a trip to Louisiana, taking on New Orleans on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. followed by Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
