HOUSTON, Texas – The HBU men's soccer team kicks off the 2016 season at home, hosting two opponents, Georgia Southern, Friday at 7:30 p.m., followed by the Fairfield Stags on Sunday at 7 p.m. in the Marriott Houston Westchase Invitational.

The Huskies will be returning 17 letterwinners, including eight starters, along with nine newcomers. Last season, Sophomore forward
Dominick Faletto was an offensive leader, scoring 4 goals and helping HBU achieve an overall record of 9-8-2. Sophomore
Darrell Johnson was also a leading scorer adding 2 goals to the team total of 29. HBU head coach
Steve Jones will be coaching his 11
th season at HBU and boasts an overall record of 71-81-17 for the Huskies.
Georgia Southern holds an overall record of 6-8-2 with Adam Abdellaoui leading the Eagles with five goals. The Fairfield Stags have a roster full of 12 freshmen to start off their 2016. Last season, the Stags had conference record of 5-3-2.
In other tournament matchups, UT Rio Grande Valley will play Fairfield Friday at 5 p.m. and Georgia Southern Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
The Huskies will host yet another match facing Huston-Tillotson, Friday Sept. 2 at 7 p.m. and then on the road in Edinburg, Texas, for their next game against Presbyterian, Sunday Sept. 4 at 10:30 a.m.
