OREM, Utah – HBU soccer held 16th-ranked Utah Valley scoreless until the 80
th minute, in a 1-0 loss at Clyde Field, Friday night in the Western Athletic Conference matchup.
The match had a quick start, UVU recorded their first shot in the third minute of the match, but found it wide. Senior midfielder
Erick Aragon tested the woodwork as he struck the ball in the fifth minute, but hit the crossbar. After a few saves from sophomore goalkeeper
Chance Pope, he called upon his defender to clear a headed shot from a Wolverine corner kick. Freshman defender
Khalil Thomas was covering the far post as he saved the ball to keep the game scoreless in the 18
th minute.
The Huskies were able to hold the ranked team scoreless until Joe Barakat served the ball into the box in the 80
th minute. Paul Hoffmeister headed the ball to Donnett Sackie, who was able to get it past Pope to break the scoreless match.

Darrell Johnson each recorded one shot on goal. Pope recorded the loss as he was asked to make ten saves and had one goal against. The team had one save recorded.
Skyler Milne led the Wolverines with three shots on goal. Mitch Jensen had two saves on the night and recorded the shutout.
The Huskies will return home to Sorrels Field to take on Western Athletic Conference member UNLV, Sunday at 7 p.m.
