VB: Huskies Host Prairie View A&M on Tuesday

HOUSTON – The HBU volleyball team will look to remain undefeated inside Shelton Gym on Tuesday, hosting Prairie View A&M in a 7 p.m. match.
 
The Huskies (4-3) and Panthers (0-7) are already familiar with each other in 2015, playing last week in Prairie View, Texas, with HBU winning in straight sets (25-18, 27-25, 25-18) to cap off the best set-start in program history at 12 consecutive victories.
 
The Huskies are looking to bounce back from a 1-3 week, dropping all three matches of the Lumberjack Classic at host Northern Arizona. Junior setter Kayla Armer was named to the all-tournament team, averaging 8.42 assists over 12 sets.
 
Junior outside hitter Jessica Wooten leads HBU with 80 kills (3.33 per set) and 65 digs (2.71 per set) over 24 sets played entering the midweek tilt. The Huskies are hitting .240 on the season, opposite a .169 clip from their opponent.
 
The Panthers enter Tuesday 0-7 on the season, having dropped all seven matches in straight sets. PVAMU is led by freshman Marissa Campbell's 27 kills and .155 attack percentage. On the season, the Panthers are being outhit .390 to .044.
 
Following the home match, HBU will embark on a six-match road swing starting with the Jaguar Invitational across September 11-12. The Huskies will play host South Alabama on Friday at 6:30 p.m., before facing fellow tournament participants Samford (10:30 a.m.) and McNeese State (4 p.m.) on Saturday.
