HBU (2-5) is coming off a thrilling 77-73 win over Rice on Wednesday night. Senior
Anthony Odunsi recorded a career-high 26 points, turning in a monster 15-for-16 showing from the free throw line. Down 64-63 with 3:20 remaining, Odunsi accounted for 11 points with a 3-pointer and perfect 8-for-8 showing from the line down the stretch to ice the game. Odunsi finished 5-of-7 from the floor and 1-for-1 from deep to go along with his collection at the charity stripe. As a team, the Huskies shot 24-for-30 from the line, making their last 20 attempts, including a 17-for-17 display in the second half.
On the season, Odunsi ranks ninth in the Southland Conference in assists (3.4 per game) and 11th in scoring (13.1 points per game) and field goal percentage (.518). Sophomore
Josh Ibarra ranks second in the league in field goal percentage (.600) and 11th in blocks (1.0 per game), a mark shared with freshman
Isaiah Robinson. Senior
Jourdan Stickler is 8-for-8 from the free throw line, while freshman
Asa Cantwell leads HBU with 10 hits from 3-point land.
The Wolverines are to a 5-2 start to the season with wins over Northern Michigan (70-44), Elon (88-68), Charlotte (102-47), Texas (78-72) and North Carolina State (66-59). U-M is led by senior Caris LeVert and sophomore Duncan Robinson, averaging 18.4 and 10.4 points per game, respectfully.
Following Saturday, the Huskies will return to Sharp Gym for two games. HBU will host Arlington Baptist on Saturday, Dec. 12, before welcoming UC Riverside to Houston on December 15. Both contests will tip at 7 p.m.
