HOUSTON – After a hard-fought 2-2 draw at Drake last Friday to begin the regular season, the HBU men's soccer team returns home to face Oral Roberts Friday, Sept. 5 at 5 pm at Sorrels Field.

The match is the opener of a soccer doubleheader, as the women host Montana at 7 pm.

HBU is 5-1-0 all-time against ORU and won both meetings last season: a 2-1 victory in double-overtime in Tulsa on Sept. 2 and a 2-0 whitewashing in Houston on Oct. 1.

Senior Patrick Toh scored twice to help HBU to a 2-2 double-overtime tie at Drake Aug. 29 in the regular season opener for both teams. His goals erased 1-0 and 2-1 leads for the Bulldogs.

Toh leads the team with two shots on goal, while he and senior Gustavo Alvarado each have three shots. Junior Alex Baez and sophomore Tobenna Uzo have one point apiece.

Senior Kevin Suarez is 0-0-1 with a 1.64 goals-against average and a .818 save percentage in goal.

Johnny Chavez's goal in the 104th minute gave Oral Roberts a 1-0 victory over Missouri State in its regular-season opener. Chavez scored off a rebound from a free kick.

Chavez leads the team with three shots, but Matthew Rogers has hit the target on both of his shot attempts.

Ben LaCourse made five saves in the shutout win.
